District 16 represents fire departments, fire marshals' offices, EMS providers, and public safety organizations across Stephens, Erath, Hood, Palo Pinto, Somervell, Parker, and Comanche counties as a unified body — coordinating between the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association and our member departments to promote unity, professionalism, and fraternity through training, leadership, and mutual support.
District 16 holds two business meetings each year. Our spring meeting serves as the annual business meeting required by our bylaws, where officers are elected and organizational business is conducted; it may also include training. Our fall meeting is focused on training our member departments, as well as partnering with neighboring SFFMA districts.
In 2026, District 16 launched its first Fire Training School, offering FF1 and FF2 certification for volunteer firefighters across our seven-county district. We currently plan to hold two schools per year.
